Sparta to Hawthorne Commuter Rail Restoration Project
New Jersey Transit is currently undertaking a design
project to support the proposed restoration of commuter rail service
along the NYS&W freight rail line between Sparta and Hawthorne. As with
many projects under consideration for a period of time, public opinion
and support for the project has varied between the impacted communities
and over time. MBA, Inc is working with NJ Transit's Community Relations
division to ensure that the proposed designs are understood by each
community and to address any concerns that may be raised. Northern New
Jersey FY 2000 Air Quality Conformity Northern New Jersey is classified
as a non-attainment area under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990.
As such, the planning framework established by ISTEA and its successor
NEXTEA requires that the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority,
the metropolitan planning organization for northern New Jersey, demonstrate
that its plans and programs conform with the goals and objectives of
the Clean Air Act as set out in the State Implementation Plan. MBA,
Inc is part of the team that completed the conformity work for FY 2000
because of its expertise in network coding and knowledge of the interagency
and policy dimensions of the conformity process.
